Todays /success topic of the day: What’s one outdated practice or belief that you think needs to be challenged or discarded? I think we need to change the practice of saying “the customer is always right.” This can lead to toxic client relationships and to unreasonable expectations. It’s ok to say NO. What do you think?

In Korea, there's a saying, "Customers are kings." It's similar to what you said, but it's a stronger meaning. Customers have become kings because of such bad practices. In restaurants, some people think of their employees as servants. More and more customers have become kings, and the people who run restaurants are tired. Of course, it was about a small number of people. Now, the social atmosphere has changed a lot and we are starting to point out customers who have become kings. Customs that were bad for changing societies have to disappear and the right culture has to be established.

Wow so there is a place that took the “customers are always right” mantra and went even further with it!? That sounds like a toxic environment for workers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It was really a mood that had been maintained until recently. It's right to throw away old and bad customs.
