A new proposal has been submitted by an Ethereum Foundation researcher called EIP-9698 In this proposal, the overall goal is to increase Ethereum's TPS (the number of transactions processed per second) by 100 times within 4 years. Currently, Ethereum's TPS is between 14 and 20 and could reach 2000 with this event. While Solana is already capable of processing 2000 transactions per second, Ethereum's overall goal for this is to compete with a fast network like Solana, which is known as a serious competitor to Ethereum. ⚠️ This proposal has not yet been approved
