1) On the 1st of October, during a price dip, tx fees on most Layer 2s increased. On @arbitrum we saw the biggest outlier around $0.07 (funny this is an outlier now) It is common to see a tx fee increase during price swings but we could also see what appears to be some contracts spamming the @arbitrum network

2) To dive into this outlier we can simply select this value in the outlier table at the top of the Layer 2 Transactions Fees dashboard by clicking "Explore šŸ”Ž" šŸ”— https://dune.com/Marcov/layer-2-transaction-cost

3) On the Transaction Fee Explorer, we can see that around 17:20 the number txs rapidly increased to over 19K in one minute šŸ“ˆ Which caused the base fee to increase to 2.3 on average

5) As a result other users are paying a higher fee for a longer period of time because of this spike which you can see in the chart below šŸ’°
