In relationships, whether between spouses or friends, if one party is too nice to the other from the start, the other person will get used to this kindness. Later on, if you are even slightly less nice, they will feel uncomfortable and think you’ve changed. When someone who is always nice to you treats you well, you think it’s only natural; but when someone who is usually selfish suddenly treats you well, you feel deeply moved. How others treat you is often a result of what you’ve allowed or encouraged. @vitalik.eth
