Here is what I've learned in the last couple of weeks, when looking to rent a house in Spain, in 2025: - Average price for 2 bedrooms is ~1200 Euros in city centre. ~900 outside - Spanish agencies are strict with renters having 1+ year Spanish permanent work contract - 2 months deposit + 1 month entry rent upfront. - There may be agency fees which is ~1 month rent worth. - You are required to be a Spanish citizen. If not, you need an NIE number. - Private landlords are easier to deal with and more flexible, but are much difficult to find

Better than in NYC where you had to -prove income 40-50x the rent - a good credit score (700+) - employer verification letter - last 2 bank statements - reference letters 😅

Wow that's a lot more. Luckily there's no such thing as a credit score in Spain. Some agencies require you to earn x in order to be eligible too. Last place I checked was around $4K net earnings per month. The bank strtements too, they need to check that you actually can afford it and pay it within the agreed contract.
