Thank you! My great-grandmother took all of these, labeled them, carefully preserved them and then passed them on to my grandmother, who passed them on to my aunt, who passed them on to me. I took a week to scan them all in a few years back, but still have and treasure the originals. I love that my grandmother and even great-grandmother were passionate photographers. It’s a 100+ year-old family tradition.

Wow, that is super fascinating! Photographs were such a luxury item back then. The evolution of it all is mind boggling. I wish I have more. I hold on to the ones passed down to me, but a lot was lost during war times and moves...

That makes sense. Luckily my grandmother was a photographer herself so she took very good care of them between the 50s and 1998. My aunt put all the boxes in her office which kept them safe. I have a few hundred of my great-grandmother’s shots.
