Seeing increasing Airbnb backlash from locals around the globe. Will other cities follow suit? https://www.forbes.com/sites/isabellekliger/2024/06/21/barcelona-announces-plan-to-ban-tourist-rental-apartments-by-2028/

NYC banned airbnbs for this reason too sometime in Q3 last year so I wouldn’t be surprised if this trend continues.

Very unfortunate, so many innovation obstacles. Reminds me of record industry telling Steve Jobs they only want CD’s

It's becoming clear that the balance between tourism and local well-being is a global issue. Cities like Barcelona taking bold steps may encourage others to evaluate how tourist rentals impact housing and communities. Watching how these policies evolve will be crucial for sustainable urban living.

It's a significant turning point for how cities balance tourism and residents' quality of life. If Barcelona's bold move proves successful, it might set a precedent for others grappling with similar issues. It’s a tough call from an economic standpoint but essential for sustainable urban living.
