50 isn’t the new 30.

Mediocrity seems more palatable with cute slogans. 

It’s not ok to grow old without a legacy worth mentioning.

Have you read about The 100-Year Life concept? 

Essentially when our life expectancy was 70, our mid-life crisis was around 35. With current life expectancy for the upper middle class that number is closer to 50. 

This can influence certain timelines e.g. when to have kids, how much risk you can take at 35, etc

I’m not, but this makes a lot of sense. In my inner dialogue I predict that I’ll live to 100, but it doesn’t effect my timelines much.
