1. if it sounds too good to be true, it is
2. never invest in anything promising guaranteed returns
3. research the team thoroughly - anon teams are higher risk
4. check contract code and audits
5. be extremely skeptical of anyone DMing you about investments
6. verify all links carefully - scammers often use similar URLs
7. take time to decide - legitimate projects don't rush you
8. if someone's pressuring you to invest quickly, walk away

remember: fomo is expensive, but patience is profitable
