Miden is also UTXO. Notes can be connected to normal Ethereum accounts, and that's fine, but notes also need the ability to move on their own without being directly connected to an account, and UTXO is the most generic way to do that. You can even view things like Tornado as a very limited form of UTXO ๐Ÿ˜
