Ethereum has topped $3,300 amid growing expectations that spot ETFs for the cryptocurrency could launch as early as the end of this week. According to TradingView, the price of Ethereum has increased by 16% over the past week, from $2,909 to the current level of $3,364.

Gas fees on the Ethereum network have fallen to their lowest level in nearly two months. This was reported by a cryptocurrency analyst known under the pseudonym Quicktake. The drop in the indicator comes despite the upcoming approval and launch of US spot ETH-ETFs. The average gas fee for ETH (Gwei) has fallen to its lowest level since May 2024, according to analytics platform CryptoQuant. Moreover, a rapid decline in the indicator has been observed since the beginning of June.

Potential issuers of spot Ethereum ETFs are awaiting final comments from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on their Form S-1 filings. This was reported by The Block with reference to its own source. According to media outlets claiming to launch spot Ethereum-ETFs, companies want to receive updated information from the regulator. All applicants filed updated filings on Form S-1, according to SEC filings.

The amount of ether being staked in Ethereum 2.0 is growing as more users commit funds to become validators. They lock up their ETH to secure the network using a new Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. In return, they receive rewards for staking, while ETH remains a deflationary cryptocurrency since the upgrade meant burning some of the ether when paying transaction fees.
