Did you know that successful negotiators spend more time listening than talking? One of my favorite strategies is the 70/30 rule: listen 70% of the time and speak only 30%. This allows you to understand the other party’s needs and position more clearly, creating an opportunity for a win-win outcome. Next time you're in a negotiation, try asking open-ended questions and give the other person space to share their perspective. You might be surprised at how much more you can achieve by saying less.
