Ok so this is indeed intentional to ensure we capture the ENTIRE user journey. Super curious how this'll pan out, given participants have to trust CB for not sharing their PII like SSN in any way

You'd be surprised, I have run research with prototypes going through KYC (they don't have to put actual info in) and people still were hesitant.

Definitely important research to conduct though!

A potential participant concern is probably about how that data will be handled (in the context of research recordings)

Maybe explicitly define who will have access to their recording & how that data will be used (anonymized, aggregated, etc)

Might see some lift!

Yup! That's where we landed too. 

KYC is really invasive -- like too much. But its also important to stay within regulations. 

So it's a really tough problem actually...

Samesies. I ran those testing for Coinbase onboarding years back, and not just in research - people had questions in general why crypto companies asked for those - that's why we added contextual FAQ during signup.
