The shadow looming over "AI art" is undeniably that of kitsch Whereas the 20th century witnessed kitsch emerge from the trenches of mass production, our era sees it reborn through the generative mass production of creative content Engaging with the medium's intrinsic kitsch will be vital vital for the art form

New meme coins are accelerating into the extremes: they either disintegrate into 4chan culture or they feel like they’ve been spun up by a consulting firm

One year later - interesting to note that these trends have continued despite general market conditions improving Only the backlog of estate selling has been absorbed by new funds targeting “blue chips”

Leaving the 20th Century – the real ambition for art in this space The dominant medium of contemporary art should be computation if it truly deserved the attribute contemporary Distributed computation as a new site for artistic meaning-making, a clean slate free from the remnants of neo-avant-garde derivatives

“Botto innovates by introducing the artist as an autonomous socio-technological system capable of incentivizing human agents to interact with and on behalf of that system.” From my piece on @botto for @glitchmarfa https://www.glitchmarfa.com/e30dgallery/interpret-complete/

i guess circle will be fine. and the probability is low. but i wouldn’t trust anyone in that situation to give accurate information about their exposure / liquidity situation and if people rushed out so quickly that theyd have to halt withdrawals the damage would be irrevocable too

the current state of the gen art market: growing supply, increasing market fragmentation, flat amount of total buyers, receding liquidity, erosion of royalties curious to see whether stress tests - 3AC liquidations etc - will affect the remarkable stability of the foundational collections

sadly not. public funding for news is a pretty good idea. but it becomes a complete clown show if the model extends into areas where public capital allocation is bound to fail (technical innovation, consumer goods etc.)

yes it has to be, i think. haven’t heard anything specific, but it seems hard to believe that anyone who bought in the last 1-2 yrs would dump now (esp bcs tezos doesn’t have the kind of leverage and forced seller dynamic like other chains)

im mostly concerned w this ego-driven PR & the inability to acknowledge mistakes. in the podcasts after the vanity exploit, they were literally saying: “we would do the same again, we have the right approach.” the vanity issue had been public for weeks when they got rekt! how can u think that way? recipe for disast
