This U.S.-Ukraine meeting ultimately turned into an international joke, for at least two reasons. First, Zelensky’s English proficiency is limited—after all, it’s not his first language—so his speech was tense and his expressions weren’t precise enough, sometimes coming off as lacking respect. This situation required a translator. Second, JD is both mean and lacking in compassion, with no tact. Like a resentful nag, the moment he’s unhappy, he digs up past grievances to rant about. What started as a seemingly friendly meeting instantly turned into a chaotic brawl.
