Idk if half the country actually wanted chaos and retribution. But if they did that would just show us why democracy doesn't work. Democracy is forcing the will of 51% of people onto 49% of people through a monopoly on violence.

Agree that polarization is a bitch. Our constitution is supposed to prevent this type of thing, but it only works if the three branches actually check and balance each other.
