I sometimes really hate the .map and .filter syntax because people fall into the trap of abusing them for non trivial things and then the code becomes easily illegible

.map and .and_then used to be used instead of await for writing async rust back in like 2017 so that might have been a remnant of that but i still cringe whenever i see combinators used for complex actions

Are they not meant for non trivial this? Are they not performant enough?
