Giethoorn in the Netherlands, this Dutch town in Overijssel province is called the "Venice of the Netherlands" and has no roads, only canals that create private islands for each home. The farmhouses with thatched roofs date back to the 18th century, and in winter, residents commute by skating on the frozen canals.
