Logic is just a system of deduction and inference. Audacious claims (extra terrestrials) should be met with intense skepticism. It's the default and, yeah, more rational than shifting your bias the other way. I don't need other skeptics. I've reviewed the evidence and I find it inconclusive. Done and done 🫡

TIL we have remindme. Nice. To be clear, I would LOVE for aliens to align with my Star Trek education (bipedal, comprehensible to higher-ape brains, fuckable, chatty, only as many dimensions as we have, perception of time vaguely resembles ours, are carbon based, etc). That would be so, so much easier than Three Body.

Arent you assuming extra terrestrials like that and NHI of a diff form factor can’t both be true? I have no real opinion on this Mexican story fwiw. (Kinda in the Jacque Vallee camp on aliens)

Check that, tbh I do have an opinion. It is a fact that the military advised movie producers on how aliens should be depicted and they prob did that because ETs are much more acceptable than the whole truth (where is my tin foil hat? Lol)

I guess I'm trying to avoid presumptive pitfalls, but it's tough. Everything I know came from Earth. I'm also not an exobiologist. Sure, both forms can exist in the universe. It's a big place. Just that the odds are... low... We can role out heavy machinery like "convergent evolution" to rationalize for funsies.
