I think it is because we have too many VC-funded startups that are only marked to market every other year, not like a fragile self-funded bootstrapper that has to fight daily

My theory is that the UX sucks because investing was the main use case for a long time. And when you tell people "Invest in this dog coin and you'll get 10X" they can jump through hoops to get there. But if you tell them "Use this web3 app and find new interesting people to talk with" then their UX tolerance is lower.

In other words: big expected reward = high tolerance for UX problems. small expected reward = low tolerance for UX problems. Since the reward was historically big bc of the investments, many people got used to these problems and some don't even notice them anymore.
