When was the last time you discovered a new music genre?

I remember my first encounters with rap (2Pac "California Love"), metal (Metallica "Ride the lightning"), or techno (Darude "Sandstorm").

But it's been a while since I discovered an entirely new genre.

Any particular songs you'd recommend? I like country!

true confession... in the past 3-4 years, I've gone from "I like everything but country" to actually liking country. Most of what I like is from 1930s to 1970s. Although I can say I "discovered" my favorite two subgenres, singing cowboy era and western swing, since I didn't really know they existed before.

I use to be a DJ, and EDM ghost writer for a top 100 DJ. Recently, really been into Maddix, he's been making these cool tracks that really have their own unique sound and mix of genres.
