Why is Phantom/OKX/Rabby wallet affecting Metamask? Some sort of dark pattern or bugs? I cannot use basepaint because I have phantom and metamask at the same time..
so freaking annoying..

Hi, I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Ethereum wallets inject a provider that websites use to connect to the wallet. When you have multiple wallets running at the same time, they don't work well together. You may have to disable the other wallets (Phantom/OKX/Rabby) to be able to use MetaMask.

There is a modern approach called EIP-6963 which allows multiple wallets to work alongside each other, but websites have to use it.

You can ask the basepaint team to use EIP-6963! Or in the meantime, disable Phantom when you want to connect to a site with MetaMask.
