Another issue is how compartmentalized Farcaster is. Unlike other social networks where you can explore freely, Farcaster feels like a collection of closed communities, where the same people interact repeatedly. Whether it's the algorithm or just how the platform has developed, it makes it hard for new people to break in. I've seen this firsthand—while I’ve managed to grow to 400 followers since April, it’s still tough to gain traction. On Rodeo, my following has grown faster, but that space also has its own limitations.
From my experience, newcomers often struggle to feel included, and without an existing following or connections, it’s challenging to grow. If we want to bring more artists here, we need to make it easier for them to integrate, be seen, and engage without relying on tipping or existing networks. 0 reply

Thanks for opening up this discussion! I joined Farcaster out of curiosity without knowing anyone, and while I’ve met a few people through global meetups, I still find the platform quite closed off in many ways.
One major challenge is engagement, tipping is an interesting feature, but it can make interactions feel transactional. Many artists don’t have the resources to tip regularly, and without that, getting visibility can be difficult. On other platforms like X or Instagram, engagement feels more organic, anyone can interact, comment, or join a conversation easily. 1 reply
