Tonight, I'm listening ๐ŸŽง to Mike Oldfield and his first album released at his 19 years old in 1973 named "Tubular Bells"; a landmark progressive rock album mixed classical, folk, and rock influences. Dominated by two lengthy instrumental tracks A&B. It's full of dynamic shifts in mood and recurring motifs. Oldfield played more than 20! different instruments on the album, including the tubular bells, displaying his exceptional talent. Probably its most recognizable opening theme became famous all over the world after being used in 'The Exorcist', which increased the album's popularity. It was recorded at The Manor Studio and was Virgin Records first release, launching both Oldfield's career and the label's prominence. A commercial and critical triumph, it sold more than 15 million copies and earned a Grammy. Tubular Bells was an instant success and remains a milestone in music history, inspiring sequels and influencing a generation of artists. https://youtu.be/2P_TjC0ZKVs?si=5W_4vcLYDLiWv6cO /music
