Atheris is a genus of vipers known as bush vipers.They are found only in tropical subsaharan Africa excluding southern Africa and many species have isolated and fragmented distributions due to their confinement to rain forests. Like all other vipers, they are venomous.

Sometimes you have to risk it all for a dream only you can see.

This beautiful and colorful snake is called "Etris squamigra" and it is known as one of the most beautiful snake species in the world due to its amazing colors and extraordinary skin.  In an interesting example of convergent evolution, this snake has many similarities to Asian tree vipers.
