I think I would enjoy php and Wordpress if I could just replace Wordpress and php for react

react definitely offers a smoother and more modern experience, especially for building dynamic uis would you consider using a headless cms setup? i think that way, you could still use wordpress for content management and react for the front end

Nothing could convince me to use wordpress for anything, it’s our customers that use it so we must contend with it

i get that sometimes dealing with legacy systems or customer preferences is just part of the job have you thought about offering alternatives to your customers, like custom react based solutions, to gradually move away from wordpress?

It’s a whole level of service above and beyond. We would have no problem doing that for customers if they wanted it but I don’t think I want to be in the business of actually trying to push that. Really I could just learn how to set up my toolchain correctly once in WP and php and then my complaining can end (this is what I’m doing now + complaining)

sounds like a solid plan, once you’ve got the toolchain set up, it’ll probably take a lot of the pain out of the process its definitely easier to get into a flow when everything’s streamlined hopefully, the complaining part fades as the setup gets smoother
