Yes. I was just looking at his Modern Color book, which is one of my very favorites. He is often overlooked.

Overlooked and under appreciated. An absolute color maniac, precise, on time. Incredible photographer

Totally. I think more photographers are finding his work, but he tends to get overshadowed by Saul Leiter, I have even seen Freds work credited to Saul. He is my top 5 photographers of all time and I thumb through the book pretty often.

He had a special eyes for the red. This is a banger! Shadows are also very special. I don’t have a favorite, probably all the series with the CocaCola signs

He really did and I can easily say that I have drwn inspiration from that great use of red. I look through ihis work and I am reminded of times when my grandparents brought us to Vancouver and it is like peaking into my memories. The CocCola and use of signs is fantastic!

Keep attention to the background should be wrote in the stone. I see many photographs (mine included) with poor backgrounds and this make a huge difference between a good photo and a great photo. Probably we will look at our photos in 30 years with a nostalgic feeling who knows. First we need to live until 80 πŸ˜‚

Yeah, I am always aware of backgrounds which tend to be quirky her in Poland. I suppose in 20 years they will be seen as historical. Most Polish photographers shy away from the way it is and try to present it in a more "modern or minimalistc" way. lol See you at 80!
