I'm inclined to think that, contrary to the popular notion of our online and offline worlds merging, we are likely to see greater separation between our "onchain" (more public, even with DID) and offchain (more private, thanks to ZKP) worlds out of necessity, as a counter-reaction to the burgeoning surveillance-state.

why would the separation hasten as a counter-reaction? and do you think teh same will be true of online/offline?

The counter-reaction to mixing online/offline lives may occur when citizens of waning western democracies realise a way to combat their loss of freedoms is via networks like Ethereum that are implementing system-wide privacy that will create a firewall b/t onchain & offchain activity. Not a near-term prediction though.
