then it kinda goes downhill

it depends! one thing that we've also learnt about replit with claude sonnet - when it's really stuck in cycles and you can't help it in any way -- you just write "IT DOESN'T WORK. STOP WASTING MY DOLLARS AND FIND A FIX" (to put it mildly) -- and then it works magically (i wouldn't mention it if it hadn't already worked multiple times 😆 )
