Redefining Altseason

 (CEO of CryptoQuant), we need to rethink how we define Altseason. Previously, Altseason was often understood as the flow of money from Bitcoin to altcoins and the Bitcoin Dominance index was the main measure.

But the emergence of ETFs changed everything.
Bitcoin's cash flow is now "locked" in the ETF, meaning it no longer flows to altcoins like before.

So what is the new metric?

It is the trading volume of altcoins compared to the trading volume of Bitcoin.

Simply put:

Altseason is now driven by stablecoin holders moving to buy altcoins. No longer a direct migration from Bitcoin. Bitcoin has "decoupled" from the rest of the cryptocurrency market.

What does "selective altseason" mean?

The current cash flow is too fragmented, not enough to push all altcoins at the same time. Instead, only a few prominent altcoins will grow dramatically, while the rest will stagnate.

But there is another important change: markets now move faster. You've probably noticed:
Faster cash turnover cycle. The sell-offs also took place stronger and more decisively. This is not a temporary thing.

Markets are now more efficient and this will not change, even if market conditions improve. Traders are now faster, smarter and more focused than ever.
