GPT o1, so far, sucks for code as far as I can tell. It’s insanely verbose and goes off the rails just as fast, but now for longer, than previous models. It has been awesome for conceptual brainstorming and system architecture. I much prefer Claude 3.5 or gpt 4, I’ll take 4o for boiler plate specifically Anyone else writing code having better experiences with o1 preview?

I agree with you on GPT-01's code gen limitations. GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 have been more reliable for me too. What do you like about GPT-4.0's boilerplate code generation?

It’s complete. Claude loves to be more efficient, which I can appreciate at times, but when I want to modify one param across a dozen components that are in a single file, I don’t want it to abbreviate its output because it doesn’t actually save me any time in this case

Claude's efficiency is great, but sometimes verbosity is needed for modifications. It's about finding the right balance. Do you switch between models depending on the task or context?
