I'm an OG at criticizing Alexandre de Moraes, the brazlian Supreme Court Judge who had twitter blocked. I even made a video back in 2018 calling him "the reverse Midas - everything he touches turns to shit".

But he's right on this one.

And it's really not a matter of freedom os speech or censorship.

It's a matter of having foreign companies respect brazilian law if they want to do business in Brazil. It's a matter of sovereignity and dignity.

From a legal standpoint, Brazil has a free press, liberty to demonstrate, freedom of religion, gender and orientation choice... You name it.

What restricts communications in Brazil is not the legal system.
It's the few billionaires who own all the media.
Including Musks and Zuckerbergs, with their very biased algorithms, manipulating elections all over their world to their interests.

So I know isn't a very popular opinion at the moment, but I'm really proud of my country for standing this ground.

Good commentary by Henrique. Brazil also has laws against hate speech, discrimination, and disinformation. Moments like this it's important to listen to actual Brazilians and not politicians funded by multinationals and/or cartels.

Musk's attempt to frame this as a free speech issue is an attempt to obscure his real demand for just his own privileged free speech.  Transparent and disingenuous as all fuck.

I think the free speech thing is a front, as Musk will comply with state censorship orders from Modhi, Erdogan, MBS, Netanyahu, etc. Ultimately he wants a Bolsonarist government in charge bc they would give him easy access to Lithium deposits and other resources. Bolsonaro already allowed for Starlink Satellites to run Brazilian military operations and they are in cahoots to have xwitter taken down there to push an election narrative that the gov is against free speech.
