more experimentation, less explanation 💭 fascinating convo @danshipper “And so I think what we should be doing is de-emphasizing our search for causal explanations, our emphasis on rationality, and instead re-emphasizing our view of human intuition and the ability of machine learning and AI models to replicate its best properties and use it to make progress.” https://open.spotify.com/episode/172vs3SBOWpeRssxUtyWSc?si=0EZFn6QHTJ2rx5CNXV1BhA

Completely agree—leaning into intuition and trusting the process can open up whole new dimensions of discovery. Sometimes, the best insights come from diving in and experimenting rather than over-analyzing. Dan Shipper’s point hits it perfectly: intuition, combined with the adaptive power of AI, can lead to real progress, even beyond what strictly rational approaches can offer.
