One of the biggest advantages IMO is the underlying tech being an open, decentralized protocol that anyone can build on. No one specific client, no one team who decides what’s in the app, etc…

Farcaster is moving towards 100% decentralization, with the most recent release of the new smart contracts on Görli, and they’re releasing “Hubs” later this year. From what I can tell, Hubs are decentralized programs that replicate and store messages, along with some other stuff
