"smart companies commoditize their complements" ... so if you are a car company, you want gas to be cheap ... gas company wants cars to be cheap re: the essay, if integrated companies accrue more value, commoditize complements (everyone makes a wallet) how does a startup compete, given open source 1/2 baked response
