Vitalik Buterin Calls Political Memcoins ‘Perfect Bribe Vehicles’ Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin believes that “political” memecoins are suitable as a tool for unlimited bribes, including from foreign governments. Buterin wrote that he does not recommend politicians to go down this path. “The risk of political coins comes from the fact that they are perfect bribery vehicles. If politicians issue a coin, you don’t even have to send ‘them’ coins to give them money. Instead, you just buy and hold the coin, and it passively increases the value of their holdings,” Buterin wrote in X
