I feel like the left has a branding problem. It's wild how many "leftist" ideals you could very easily get most working class red voters to agree with, yet they still consider "the left" to be demonic. Are there any explorations on how to effectively overcome this branding chasm in reality vs. perception?

Some ideas: - Focus on the ruling class vs the rest of us. Remind that much of our division is the ruling class using wedges to divide and conquer. - Find common ground like understanding the CIA is a bad thing or that politicians are corrupt. - Sometimes you have to remind people that the TV lies to everyone constantly and gives people false ideas about things like what is a leftist (we are not the bullshitting corporate liberals on TV)

Those are good but ignore the part of the working class that racist, sexist and would prefer to have their own religion be the law of the land. That is why I think we need multiple parties.

Yeah I don't agree with compromising on values with fascists. That's what liberals do. For the left I think it's more about trying to find common ground and building from there in terms of educating people on the power dynamics at play and how leftist solutions address the root causes of problems. It's definitely not about giving a free pass for BS.
