I think releasing the weapons is more a negotiating tactic than anything else. It’s a no win situation because of the thousands of years of history. Hopefully they can end the blood shed , relocate ppl as needed and rebuild Gaza

the thousands of years of history is what makes "relocate ppl" a non-starter. if it was that simple, it would have been done a long time ago.

point remains - Trump evidently just wants to end the conflict by any means possible, which means resuming sending massive artillery to Israel, which is ostensibly worse for Gazans and other Palestinians

Yes, negotiation requires compromise from both sides -- in a conflict of this magnitude that means neither side is going to get everything they want.

Still, my point is that people who said Trump would not be worse for Gazans than a Democratic administration were kidding themselves

There is no solution that makes everyone happy. It’s always lose lose.
