The understanding I have is that anyone can create the event. Last year it was @ted, this year @esteez.eth both supported by a bunch of others. Similar to the one we ran in London you came to or the one the @gabrielsieng and @elxlee did/promoted for FarAsia. 

Perhaps that will change as Merkle team evolves - where would you like to see a Farcaster conference?

Makes sense, just stating its a fact which makes it very US centric. 

The one in London was positioned as a side kick (farawaycon) to the main one.

I guess the idea is to bring builders/creators/power users together only through community consensus here have these events become 'the thing'. The questions are, if we create a team to develop and get enough interest to get 300-500 people together in say EU or APAC will we be able to get the same funding to make it work? We will only if try, perhaps something to consider for next year? I'm sure we can get a group together to make it happen.
