I also wonder if Americans are especially upset because the slogan is equating that communism can be "great again" in the way that America can be "great again", perhaps an unwelcome reminder of some dark pasts.

Americans have a couple of hot buttons words that get used in this space and others: « communism », « socialism », « cabal »

I guess it’s their culture.  It’s going to be hard to create new systems without examining old systems tho, and to do that we have to talk about them.
