bots were actually good for business. my launch posts used to get 500-1000s of likes (with hundreds of clickthroughs). today I'm lucky if it hits 50. if bots boosting my posts meant real users were more likely to see them as well, I gladly take the tradeoff

Because bots like your posts, not mine. Likely because you have more followers (therefore more bot followers). Bots basically amplified posts of already popular casters. So it’s good if you’re popular but not as much if you aren’t.

to me it seemed like engagement was higher accross the board, and posting good content had a higher chance of going 'viral' in our tiny corner on the internet.
