The fundamental issue with consumer crypto today is lack of consumers. Consumers need interesting or entertaining content to stick around. Sign ups are irrelevant if you can’t retain them. Everything else is a marginal improvement at best.

Honestly I even think the phrasing “consumer crypto” is limiting. The tech unlocks possible value alignment, it is not an end in itself. I have been workshopping how to describe Farcaster to friends, and so far “community-owned social network” hits much harder than “sufficiently decentralized social network”.

Great, drop the “crypto” the point remains for the new class of consumer apps built with crypto or have made som progress with cryptonative audiences. Need more content and people.

I was not disagreeing with you, I was trying to say that to attract those people we need to work on our value messaging (as opposed to tech messaging). The conflict here is that crypto natives are a pretty tech-savvy audience, and often to connect with them, crypto builders rely on tech messaging.
