Checked out an izakaya yesterday for date day. Was nice to get a bit day drunk and have some teppan ika, unagi “yakitori”, plus tons of other Japanese bar foods

Ser. We are not the same. Had a recent Izakaya experience in midtown NYC--soggy omurice with 30% ketchup and a $9 pint of Sapporo draft. Also, afraid to even ask, waddyamean "date day"??? that can be a thing? 🙇

I wouldn’t say this izakaya was mind-blowing…my fav in TO is called Zakkushi, but it’s only open at night. This one was near the University so had cheap beer 🍻 kampai! Day dates are the only way we can keep our sanity with two young kids. We got reflexology, went to the art gallery, café, park, izakaya
