According to Wu, Wall Street Journal reporter Nick Timiraos stated that the employment report for September may close the door on the Federal Reserve lowering interest rates by 50 basis points next month, and keep officials on track for a 25 basis point cut. The Federal Reserve began cutting interest rates last month, when officials believed they might have acted too late on rate cuts due to mild summer inflation data and signs of a cooling labor market, leading to a larger cut of 50 basis points.
