For security reasons on optimistic rollups if you want to use the canonical bridge (the one built by the team). But you can withdraw via any other bridge instantaneously like with Orbiter or Bungee

This is only True on optimistic L2s. On zk it is a few hours. It is the case because the L1 contract lets a 7 day period for anyone create a fraud proof. Once the bundle is validated on L1 you cannot prove a fraud and rollback. But in the current scenario it should be instant because fraud proofs do not exist already
