The U.K. Finance Trade Association said it has completed the experimental phase of the tokenization platform and CBDC and intends to cooperate with regulators and other government agencies to create payment networks based on this technology.

The program was attended by 11 participating banks, including Barclays, Citi UK, HSBC and Natwest, as well as professional service firms. The program concluded that such a platform would help provide economic benefits and enable the implementation of new features such as programmable payments.
