🔴 Trump: Interest rates in the US are too high🔴
US President-elect Donald Trump announced at a news conference at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida that interest rates in the country are too high and inflation continues.
These statements come as the Federal Reserve, under the Joe Biden administration, raised interest rates to their highest levels in two decades to curb inflation.
Trump, who had previously accused Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell of politicking, said he would allow Powell to remain in office until the end of his term in 2026.
The annual inflation rate rose to 2.7% in November, still above the Federal Reserve's 2% target, and current interest rates are between 4.25% and 4.5%.
