When I was little and school age, my mom insisted that I save sweet gifts for later. No, I didn't eat them by the kilograms and didn't live only by sweets. I knew, first soup and then sweets. They gave me a box of candy, I want to eat one or two, my mom said let it stand closed. So they stood closed, they were not allowed to open until the expiration date passed, my mom threw them out. I'm not talking about New Year's gifts, they stretched them out until spring. All edible gifts had to be begged to open, my mom absolutely forbade it. I didn't have allergies, my teeth didn't hurt. When there was money in the piggy bank, which was not always, I bought sweets after school and ate them. My mom's behavior still makes me resent her.
