From this place every night at 9 p.m. a symbolic cannon shot is fired towards the Bay of Havana, announcing the closing of the walls that the city had in the 18th century, a tradition that lasts to this day.

Visit the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, a historical cultural heritage of my country. This place is much more than an 18th century fortress; It is a colossal work of military engineering, the largest built in America by the Spanish. Its strategic location at the entrance to the Bay of Havana, next to the Castillo del Morro and other fortifications, makes it a palpable testimony of the historical importance of the city as a key point of trade and defense of the country. Its polygonal structure, an advanced design for its time, reflects the sophistication of the defensive systems of the time.

En el centro del Parque de la Fraternidad de la Habana se alza esta imponente ceiba, conocida como el "Árbol de la Fraternidad Americana". Fue plantada el 24 de febrero de 1928 y abonada con tierra de 21 repúblicas americanas. Esta ceiba está rodeada por una verja con una puerta metálica al frente, donde se plasman los nombres de cada república que donó tierra para ella, simbolizando la contribución de cada país. Está Ceiba es un símbolo de unidad y fraternidad entre las naciones de América.

The Puentes Grandes Paper Mill, located in Havana, Cuba, was one of the most important and oldest paper industries in the country! This factory took advantage of the current of the Almendares River to generate hydraulic energy and produce various types of paper and cartridges. Currently, this important factory is old and abandoned in the center of the city.

Today I have mixed feelings. I just said goodbye to my son, who left for Spain to join his wife. On the one hand, I feel deep pain knowing that we will not be together sharing our daily lives. However, I am also happy because he will start his own path.
