Chinese Citizen Confesses to Laundering $73 Million via Crypto Daren Li, a 41-year-old Chinese national with dual citizenship, pled guilty to laundering $73 million through cryptocurrency. He used shell companies and U.S. bank accounts to conceal the source of the funds, which were converted into USDT stablecoins and distributed to crypto addresses. Despite being outside the U.S., Li was arrested in April at Atlantaās airport and faces up to 20 years in prison. Prosecutor Nicole Argentieri warned investors to avoid risky investment schemes.
